A Black Friday roundup I made just for you, bestie 💗

Hi Reader!

Black Friday week is basically a firehose of “BUY THIS NOW”, so I wanted to give you something that feels more… fun.

Especially for those of us who like to justify our end-of-year business purchases by calling them “investments.” 😉

I put together a little list of Black Friday picks that are actually useful for photographers and entrepreneurs.
All things I genuinely love. All things I’d recommend to a friend.
Nothing weird. Nothing scammy. No kitchen gadgets you’ll forget to use.

Here we go!

FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

Club Backdrops
My favorite place to buy backdrops for still life and stock photography. Affordable, cute, and they somehow nail every vibe. I have about ten I rotate through, but the vinyl "Sandstone" and "Arctic Marble" get the most use.
If you’re feeling brave, grab the mystery pack of three for eighteen dollars.
Use my link for a free backdrop, or buy 3 and get 3 free with code 3FOR3BF25 during Black Friday.

A "Take Everywhere" Camera

If you want to grow in stock photography, you need a camera you can throw in your bag without thinking about it. Yes, your phone works. No, it is not the same.
A mirrorless camera gives you cleaner files, more control, and images that license for years.

I have used the Fujifilm X-T2 for almost ten years and I am finally ready to upgrade to the Fujifilm X-T5. Fuji colors are beautiful, the film simulations are chef’s kiss, and it is so lightweight I even take it backpacking.

If Canon is more your style, the Canon R8 is also on my radar. It's even lighter and perfect to carry with you all day.

Lens recs for the Fujifilm:
My everyday lens
The pancake lens

This one is under $150 and has great reviews

Stock Photography Academy

On Friday, my signature course Stock Photography Academy goes on sale at 60% off, the lowest price I have ever publicly offered.

If you join you will also receive two bonuses:
Access to The Agency Sessions and Stock Photo Besties.

SPA gives you the foundation.
The Agency Sessions give you direction.
Besties gives you structure, support, and community.

If you have been feeling the pull toward stock photography or craving a creative reset for 2026, keep an eye out on Friday.

More details soon! (The link can be found here on Friday)

Lighting for Photographers Who Swear They Only Shoot Natural Light

A friend let me test this setup and I fell in love.
These constant lights look natural, they are simple to use, and they make any space look better.

I will be ordering two lights with a lantern softbox.
For the soft box you can choose the 65 cm or 90 cm . (I've heard both are fantastic!).
If you want to level up, grab a sturdy rolling C-stand. and abattery option for tricky spaces.

Good lighting instantly elevates your images, keeps your submission quality consistent, and helps you stand out at every agency.

FOR THE ART LOVER

The Luupe

The Luupe is my favorite agency right now and one thing I love is that they let photographers set their own prices. It keeps artists compensated fairly and their curation is honestly stunning.

This is the perfect place to buy art for your home or for someone you love. You'll get 50% off your first royalty-free purchase with code GETREAL50

Start with The Luupe’s Gift Guide if you want expert picks and advice on prints and framing…
or if you want to support me directly, here are a few of my recommendations!

For the Minimalist (or this)

For the ski bum

For the Coffee lover

Something Moody

This one would look so good in a chic black frame

For the Romantic

For Your Catholic Grandma

FOR THE ENTREPRENEUR

Élevae Visuals
For everyone who says stock photography is boring and outdated, meet Élevae Visuals. This is where I submit some of my most artistic work.
It is also the agency I personally use to fill my own marketing gaps.
Their collection is refined, modern, and incredibly useful for small business owners.
They are running a 30 percent off sale with code BF30.

Social Media Strategy for $5/ month??

Jordan Crump has been my marketing strategist and social media manager for years, and I am about to give you the inside scoop. Her Close Friends account is only $5 a month and it is ridiculous how much value she shares in there.
Content ideas, trend alerts, strategy that should cost thousands, all for the price of a black coffee (not even a latte). And her soft selling guide for IG Stories? If your story views drop the second you mention an offer, you need this. It works.

A Dopamine Desk

A clean, organized, and genuinely cute workspace changes everything.
I pulled together a list of my favorite little desk upgrades so you can create a setup that makes you want to sit down and get things done.

BOOKS!

Every one of us needs a few personal growth books within reach, and the end of the year is the perfect moment for a reset.
Something to balance out whatever spicy situation you have open on your Kindle. (Don’t pretend you do not know exactly what I mean.)

Here are my favorite picks for artists, entrepreneurs, and anyone who wants to level up creatively and take their personal finances seriously this year.

I hope this little round-up gives you something fun to explore this week.
Black Friday gets overwhelming fast, but if you stick with things that support your creativity and make you excited to make work again, you really can't go wrong.

Enjoy. Browse. Treat yourself if it feels right.

Hi Reader! Six years ago, I blew up my life. I left a home I loved, a career I had built, and a community that felt like mine, all to move back “home.”Closer to family. More affordable. A better place to raise a baby. Except… that version of home didn’t exist anymore. Within a month, housing prices exploded. The world shut down. The pandemic hit creatives especially hard. And like a lot of photographers, I panicked. I felt forced to pivot into anything and everything to make money as a...

Hi Reader! I want to tell you a quick story about something I set my mind to this year. This past year I applied to a new premium stock agency, The Luupe. Years ago, someone who worked at Getty mentioned The Luupe to me. Very casually and very discreetly, they said they believed it was the future of stock photography. I remember looking it up and immediately thinking there was no way I could ever get in. After a few years of proving to myself that I could do a lot of things I once thought...

Happy New Year Reader! Later this week, I’ll be sharing exactly how I worked toward my stock photography goals this year. But before that, I want to talk about something important. If earning from photo licensing is on your 2026 vision board, getting your work into premium stock matters. A lot. Think about it from the brand side for a second. A brand spends tens of thousands of dollars on a campaign. Strategy, copy, colors, creative direction. Every decision is intentional. Then imagine they...
