San Diego Recap+ November Shot List

Hey Reader!

I just had the best weekend in San Diego with my bestie, and wow – my heart is so full. 🫶

What started as a little family photo session before their big move turned into three days of chatting nonstop, playing with creative shoot ideas, and sipping coffee while her littles ran around. Honestly, perfection.

I left with memory cards full of family portraits, branding shots, and stock photos, but you know what stuck with me the most?

There’s this magic in watching a family grow and getting to capture those moments through your lens. This weekend reminded me why I fell in love with stock photography – it’s not just snapping photos, it’s creating an artful record of life’s most beautiful, fleeting moments.

This weekend really reminded me why I fell in love with stock photography in the first place – it’s not just about taking pictures, it’s about creating an artful record of life’s beautiful moments and connecting with people on a deeper level.

What I’m Shooting in November

Let me let you in on a little insider tip:
Self-care subjects? Always a winner. But January and February? Absolute goldmines. ✨

Brands are on the hunt for those “new year, new you” images to help people kickstart their wellness goals. And the best part? These shots are so easy to create!

Here’s my simple, go-to recipe:

  • Grab a friend and self care items like face masks, Gua sha journals, etc.
  • A clean bedroom or bathroom, a white bed, and good lighting – that’s all you need.

Need more inspo? Try capturing these:

  • ✨ Morning coffee and journaling in bed
  • ✨ Yoga or meditation moments
  • ✨ Herbal tea rituals
  • ✨ Skin care routines
  • ✨ Beautiful, nutritious food styling

The key? Keep it real, calming, and relatable – these are the images that truly connect with people. ❤️

Hi Reader, You know what I hear all the time from photographers who want start to licensing their photos? “I really want to start... Hi Reader, The most successful stock photographers I know aren’t sitting around waiting for their dream shoots. They’re out there creating their own opportunities. Last February, I flew to Vegas (yes, that Vegas) to shoot… a dental office.Scrubs, suction tools, and all. 🦷 But it wasn’t some stiff, fake-smile, posed nonsense.I photographed real dental staff doing their actual jobs: appointments, procedures, interacting with patients. No actors pretending to be hygienists. No plastic teeth....

Hi Reader, This past Monday, I had a little panic moment when I opened my Profitable Stock Planner and saw July staring back at me. It’s officially "go time" for uploading fall content to my stock agencies. On one hand, I’m proud. I went all out last fall and planned so many seasonal shoots. On the other hand... I’ve got work to do. So I went back to basics. Every morning this week, I’ve logged onto my computer, opened Lightroom, and set a timer for 20–30 minutes. That’s it. No marathon...
